VANDRE CLEAR, DVM
VETERINARY DERMATOLOGIST
Dr. Vandre Clear received her DVM from The Ohio State University in 2009. She completed a specialised private practice internship in Internal Medicine and Critical Care, then practiced as an emergency clinician and as a general practitioner for the next three years. However, her love of dermatology that began in 2005 eventually led her to leave general practice behind and complete her Residency in Dermatology at Michigan State University in 2015.
Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Clear received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Drexel University in Pennsylvania and worked in molecular and microbial genetics in both the pharmaceutical and academic industries. She also has an Associate of Arts degree in graphic and advertising design.
Immediately after completing her Residency in Dermatology, Dr. Clear moved to St. Louis Missouri to purchase Animal Skin, Ear & Allergy Clinic of St. Louis and has been the sole owner and dermatologist of that clinic until moving to New Zealand in April of 2024, to purchase Animal Dermatology NZ from Duncan Graham, who is now enjoying a very well-deserved retirement (so if you see him, congratulate him!). Dr. Clear has been the owner of ADNZ since 2 July 2024 and is very excited to finally have found a place that she can call home.
While Dr. Clear enjoys all aspects of dermatology and allergy, her passion is ears and treating otitis and is very much looking forward to bringing video otoscopy as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool to the Wellington area.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, tramping (aka hiking), kayaking, fishing, downhill skiing, biking and traveling
