​PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

Dear Prospective Dermatology Client

Your veterinarian has referred your animal to for a dermatology consultation, diagnostic workup and treatment. I look forward to meeting you and your animal. A few points to make before your initial visit are: 

1. Please let us know all the medications and supplements your pet is taking. Be specific. There may be times where we would prefer certain medications to be discontinued prior to your visit, but if that is not possible and puts your pet's quality of life at risk, we will work around that. 
2. Please do not bathe your animal for at least three days prior to the consultation
3. Be prepared for a 75 to 90 minute initial appointment. One of the pet's owners must be present at the initial visit. If you are bringing your pet  but are not the main provider of your pet's care, please have a list or photos of the medications, topicals, supplements and or food(s) that you are currently giving your pet. 
4. Because this is a specialty, our fees will likely be higher than your primary care veterinarian's. 
5. You must complete and submit the new patient Google form that we sent you (or click on the link to come) AT LEAST 72 hours prior to our initial visit. Diagnosing dermatologic disease is primarily history based. If we have a complete detailed history from you and your vet, it will be much easier and faster to either diagnose your pet's condition(s) or have a plan to do so in place, even before you come.
